Overview
Seeking a Family Physician in a rural area of Eastern Ontario Clinic/Private practice in a full-equipped facility owned by the municipality. Low overhead costs are shared by physicians.
Duties
Family Physicians perform some or all of the following duties:
- Examine patients, order diagnostic procedures, and consult with other medical practitioners to evaluate patients' physical and mental health
- Prescribe, administer, and monitor medications and treatments
- Perform minor surgeries
- Provide acute care management
- Vaccinate patients to prevent and treat diseases
- Provide pre-natal and post-natal care
- Advise patients and their families on health care, including health promotion, disease, illness and accident prevention
- Provide counselling and support to patients and their families on a wide range of health and lifestyle issues
- Perform patient advocacy role
- Co-ordinate or manage primary patient care
- Provide continuous care to patients
Requirements
- Postgraduate training from Canada, UK, Ireland, Australia or USA
- Eligible for certification by the College of Family Physicians Canada (CFPC)
- Eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO)
- Experienced and new to the profession physicians are welcome to apply

- Physicians may apply for the NRRRI which provides more than $88,000, paid over 4 years for a 4 year commitment
