ED Locums Urgently Needed in Kirkland Lake

About Us

Blanche River Health is a 61-bed hospital corporation located in beautiful Northeastern Ontario with two sites serving the communities of Englehart and Kirkland Lake and surrounding areas.

Our Kirkland Lake site in Kirkland Lake, Ontario features 41 medical/surgical beds including 4 ICU beds and 2 step-down beds. Our ED has an average of 35 patients in a 24-hour census and offers services including general surgery, anesthesia, visiting specialists, diagnostic imaging with CT scanner, laboratory services, physiotherapy, respiratory therapy, and pharmacy services (including on-site chemotherapy mixing). We also have a satellite oncology clinic (via OTN through HSN), as well as mental health and palliative and discharge care services.

About This Locum Opportunity

We are currently seeking locum physicians to help cover shifts in our Emergency Department in Kirkland Lake, ON. Given that we are in a rural setting, physicians are expected to hold the following certifications:

• ATLS – Advanced Trauma Life Support

• PALS – Pediatric Advanced Life Support

• NRP – Neonatal Resuscitation Program

There may be occasions where you are required to manage critical situations independently, so comfort with a broad scope of emergency care is important.

Remuneration

All August shifts are currently incentivized at the following rates:

Dayshift: $318/hr + 10% shadow billing

Nightshift: $270/hr + 10% shadow billing

• The Drive: Located 580 km north of Toronto straight up Highway 11.
• The Flight: Fly into Timmins (YTS) and grab a rental car - it's a scenic, traffic-free 1.5-hour drive straight to the hospital. (Or fly into North Bay for a beautiful 2.5-to-3-hour drive north).

What You Bring to Our Team

• Licensed to practice as a Physician in Ontario and in good standing with the CPSO
• Demonstrated ability to provide professional, caring approach with patients, public, department staff, fellow physicians, staff from other departments and other institutes and agencies
