Family Medicine Hospitalist

The Department of Primary Care at Niagara Health seeks a highly skilled and motivated physician with a track record for providing compassionate and efficient care to join the Family Medicine Hospitalist Service. Working closely with our interdisciplinary team, hospitalists are responsible for providing care to patients on the post-acute care medical service.

We provide a full range of acute care hospital services to the 550,000 residents across the Niagara region.

Program

• 5 units located in Niagara Falls (2), Welland, Port Colborne and Fort Erie hospital sites
• Post Acute Care-Low Intensity Rehabilitation, Medically Complex, Palliative, Alternate Level of Care (ALC), awaiting LTC
• All units supported by a Nurse Practitioner Monday-Friday
• Physician Attends Unit 2-3 hours per day and available by phone throughout day

The Practice

• Shift schedules and on-call requirements vary by hospital site and have some flexibility
• Mixed remuneration model including daily stipend, fee-for-service billing and/or shadow billing
• No overhead cost
