The Thamesview Family Health Team (TFHT) is seeking a Family Physician for a long-term locum opportunity, with the potential to absorb a retiring physician’s roster and build a rewarding family medicine practice in Chatham-Kent. The successful physician will have the opportunity to provide comprehensive primary care within a collaborative, interdisciplinary team environment.
TFHT is home to 18 family physicians and offers a supportive practice environment with access to an interdisciplinary team that includes Nurse Practitioners, Registered Nurses, Registered Practical Nurses, Social Workers, a Pharmacist, Dietitian, Respiratory Therapist, Occupational Therapist, and dedicated administrative staff. The EMR is TELUS PS Suite.
Chatham-Kent is a distributed teaching site for Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry and a Family Medicine Resident Teaching Site, providing physicians with opportunities to engage in teaching and mentorship. Additional professional development and education opportunities are available through TFHT, CKHA, the Chatham-Kent Family Physician Recruitment and Retention Task Force, and the Chatham-Kent Ontario Health Team (CKOHT).
Compensation would be blended capitation. The TFHT will support physicians in finding nursing and administrative staff. The TFHT provides HR and administrative support to the doctors. Possibly eligible for income stabilization and newcomer stipend of $25,000 for a full-time practice.
