Family Medicine in the beautiful Haliburton Highlands

The good news is that just north east of Toronto, in the heart of cottage country, Haliburton County is accepting physicians to join our FHO. We are a group of 8 supportive physicians practicing family medicine in the beautiful Haliburton Highlands at the Haliburton Family Medical Centre. We are also affiliated, and work collaboratively with the Haliburton Highlands Family Health Team.

Practice Details

We currently have a roster of 10,080 patients. We have two physicians planning on retiring this year and already have a waiting list of over 1,400 patients so you can be as busy as you'd like to be. Practice sharing and working in our ER as options so you can structure your practice any way that suits you.

Compensation

Physicians who practice as part of our FHO earn an average of $2500-$1800 per clinic day, calculated after overhead. Compensation is based on a blended capitation model as a physician belonging to a Family Health Organization. Clinic Information

• EMS: Telus PS
• Large, bright, modern and very spacious 10,000 square foot clinic
• Conveniently located directly beside our hospital and elementary schools and high school
• Extensive admin team support as well as RNs, Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistant
• Allied Professionals on site: LifeLabs, Physiotherapy, Dietician, Chiropodist, Social Work
• Regional Services: CT Scanner, 24 hour ED, Mammography, Ultrasound and Xray, Urgent Care Clinic and Nursing Clinic all in community
• Rotation of visiting Specialists
• Option to locum prior
• Teaching site with a full rotation of residents from the University of Toronto, Queen's and other

Financial Incentives for Full-Time Practice

• Haliburton County offers a two year return of service incentive to physicians moving to the area to practice Family/ER medicine full-time; $25,000/year to max of $150,000. We can be flexible to pay this annually or as a lump sum. We can also start initiate this incentive during medical school, residency or while waiting for licensure.
• Relocation Allowance of up to $15,000
• There is an additional financial incentive through NRRR of $97,748 (payable over 4 years).
• Our region also qualifies for OSAP Forgiveness of $60,000 through the MOH.
