CARDIOVASCULAR HOSPITALIST – GENERAL INTERNAL MEDICINE

The Department of Medicine at Niagara Health (NH) is seeking a group of highly motivated physicians with certification in General Internal Medicine to join our Medical Staff in the novel role of Cardiovascular Hospitalist.

This position is ideal for an internist with an interest in cardiovascular medicine who is passionate about high-quality inpatient care, collaborative practice, and innovation in regional healthcare delivery.

The successful candidate will join a high-functioning and collegial cardiology program, working closely with an experienced team of cardiologists to support the inpatient cardiology consultation service during daytime hours.

The Role

Primary responsibilities will include daytime cardiology consultation coverage, generally from 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM, in partnership with the on-service cardiologist and broader cardiology team.

The role will focus on the assessment and management of common inpatient cardiovascular presentations including:

• Heart failure
• Atrial fibrillation and other common arrhythmias
• Chest pain and troponin elevation
• Syncope
• Hypertension
• Perioperative cardiovascular assessment
• Volume management and diuresis
• Medical co-management of complex cardiac patients Advanced imaging, procedural care, CCU management, and complex subspecialty decision-making remain fully supported by the cardiology division.
