South Muskoka Memorial Hospital | Bracebridge, Ontario

Muskoka Algonquin Healthcare (MAHC) is seeking General Surgery Locum Physicians to join our team beginning January 1, 2027, or thereafter.

This is an excellent opportunity to experience practicing General Surgery in beautiful Muskoka, work alongside a collaborative team of physicians and healthcare professionals, and explore the potential for a long-term or full-time practice opportunity.

The Opportunity:

We are seeking General Surgery locums to provide:

• General Surgery procedures
• Endoscopy
• On-call coverage
• Collaborative care with our surgical and medical teams

Locum coverage may also serve as an opportunity to explore a full-time General Surgery position, should there be a good fit between the physician, our team, and the Muskoka community.

Remuneration: Fee-for-Service + HOCC

On-Call: 1-in-3

Locum Incentives

We are pleased to offer:

• Travel expenses to and from Bracebridge for locum physicians
• Accommodation reimbursement of up to $200 per day
• Opportunity to explore a full-time General Surgery practice in Muskoka
• Northern Rural Recruitment and Retention Initiative (NRRRI) funding for eligible full-time physicians, with funding of more than $90,000

Muskoka Algonquin Healthcare (MAHC) is a multi-site healthcare organization serving the communities of Muskoka and surrounding areas. MAHC includes:

• Huntsville District Memorial Hospital in Huntsville
• South Muskoka Memorial Hospital in Bracebridge
