Overview

Brightshores Health System (http://www.brightshores.ca/) Brightshores Health System operates six hospitals in the Grey Bruce region serving a population of over 170,000. The Owen Sound hospital is a Level 2 regional referral centre with a Level 3 ICU, offering a full range of specialty services through the Departments of Anaesthesia, Diagnostic Imaging, Obstetrics/Gynecology, Oncology, Hospitalist Medicine, Internal Medicine, Pathology, Paediatrics, Psychiatry and Surgery (ENT, General Surgery, Ophthalmology, Orthopaedics, Urology). Thriving rural hospitals are also located in Lion's Head, Markdale, Meaford, Southampton and Wiarton, servicing a range of ambulatory, in-patient and emergency needs.

Practice Opportunity

The Department of Hospital Medicine is looking to expand its complement of Full-time & Part-time permanent Hospitalists – locum opportunities are also an option. Our physicians provide coverage to both our Hospitalist and Rehabilitation Units at Grey Bruce Health Services – Owen Sound site.

Service Delivery

• Four (4) Acute Hospitalists cover acute medical admissions/discharges, daily care and on-call service on a weekly rotation.
• Two (2) Hospitalists are scheduled each weekend, with rotating on-call dates.
• Hospitalists care for ~14 to 18 patients each and are scheduled ~ 1 weeknight on-call per weekly schedule.

Requirements

Qualifications

Interested candidates will hold CFPC or RCPSC designation and an independent license to practice in Ontario.

Compensation

Compensation Model

Blended model including weekday stipends and after-hours/weekend fee for service billings plus on-call stipends. We have a tiered remuneration model that increases depending on the number of annual service weeks provided. Interim locum Hospitalist weeks also available as part of the recruitment process.
