It serves approximately 30,000 Northumberland, Peterborough, and Hastings County residents, as well as a large seasonal population of cottagers and tourists enjoying the beautiful Kawartha Lakes Region and the Trent River System. We are approximately 1.5 hours northeast of Toronto, or 1.25 hours northwest of Kingston. A nice, scenic drive! As the only hospital located between Belleville and Peterborough, CMH provides a comprehensive array of acute care services. Our emergency department sees about 18,000 visits each year.
Our congenial medical team is dedicated to ensuring their expertise benefits the 30,000 people seeking care at the Hospital annually. CMH offers a paid 8-hour 'Orientation Shift' in advance of your first solo shift on site. We are a Level 4A AFA with 10% shadow billing. Shadow billing managed through the hospital and paid out on receipt from the MOH.
