About Wiarton Hospital

Located at the base of the Bruce Peninsula, Wiarton Hospital is a vital rural facility serving local residents and the Chippewas of Nawash Unceded First Nation, as well as seasonal visitors to the area. The hospital plays a key role in delivering culturally safe, patient-centred care to its surrounding communities.

• 15,502 Emergency Department visits annually (~42 per day; significantly higher in summer)
• 22 inpatient beds (12 acute + 10 complex continuing care)
• Core services include: Emergency Department, Inpatient Care (Acute + CCC), Family Practice, Long-Term Care, Palliative Care, Home Visits, Indigenous Health Programs, Medical Education & Teaching

Wiarton Hospital is closely connected to both primary care and community-based services, including ongoing collaboration with local Indigenous health partners.

Brightshores Health System is expanding its Rural Emergency Medicine physician group and is currently seeking physicians to join the team at Wiarton Hospital. Requirements

• ED experience and ACLS, PALS certifications.
• Applicable CCFP, CCFP-EM or RCPSC designation.
• Independent license to practice in Ontario.

Compensation & Benefits

Compensation Emergency Department Alternate Funding Agreement(s) with applicable hourly rates and related billings.
